VIDEO: Former Comet coach honored for Hall-of-Fame career

Former Delavan-Darien High School boys basketball coach Beauford Breidenstein was honored Feb. 8 during halftime of the Comets vs. Elkhorn Elks game.
DELAVAN -- Delavan-Darien boys' basketball coaching legend Beauford Breidenstein died Thursday at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, he was 79.
Breidenstein served 25 years as the head coach of the Comet boy’s basketball team, winning more than 300 games during his career.
Current and former Delavan-Darien High School players and coaches honored Breidenstein Feb. 8 during halftime of the Comets vs. Elkhorn Elks game.
Breidenstein recently was named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and was to be formally inducted on Oct. 8, 2011.
Visitation is planned from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Delavan United Methodist Church, 223 S. Second Street. (DETAILS)
The funeral will follow visitation Sunday.
Another visitation is planned from 1 a.m. to noon Monday, March 7, 2011 at Mount Pisgah Wesleyan Church in Ontario, Wis.
Briedenstein won six conference championships, four regional championships, a district championship in the 1968-69 season and was a two-time recipient of the Southern Lakes Conference “Coach of the Year” award, according to the Delavan-Darien School District website.
