Video clip: Rare film of Super Bowl I discovered in attic
Although it would be rare today for two networks to broadcast a football game, much less the Super Bowl, NBC and CBS both broadcast Super Bowl I, where the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10.
Even more unusual, by today's standards, neither network saved a copy of the tape.
In some ways, finding the lost footage has been the Holy Grail of sports, but recently, the Paley Center for Media in New York told the Wall Street Journal STORY that it has acquired the most complete copy of the game from a North Carolina man who found it in his attic.
The highlight of the film is the famous touchdown pass from Bart Starr to Max McGee.
