GENEVA LAKE -- After a windless and muggy Thursday forced cancellation of the first day of racing at the Inland Lake Yachting Association Championship on Geneva Lake, racers are hoping the wind and racing picks up Friday.

Race manager Russ Ackely said they hope to get in three races today for the E scow class, making it an official regatta. Seven races were planned, but three were scratched yesterday.

Forecasts for today are 10-15 knots.

Ackely says the course will be tailored to the time the want the race to run. They want the races to be about 60 minutes, so he'll shorten or stretch out the course depending on weather conditions.
