Enter our Best Dad and Grad contest on Facebook

By Dan Plutchak ( Contact )   May 13, 2011 - 11:17 a.m.

This year, I'm a dad with a grad.

My oldest son graduates from high school in a few short weeks and already is looking ahead to college in the fall. Actually, from what some of the teachers say, the senior class has been ready to graduate from many weeks now. I can't say I was much different when I was his age. It's a ritual that plays out every spring.

Beyond high school, it's college graduation weekend as well. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater holds its graduation ceremonies this weekend. And in the audience will be friends, relatives, moms and plenty of proud dads like me.

With the graduation season and Fathers Day upon us, you can honor your dad or new grad by entering the online contest at WalworthCountyToday.com sponsored by the Walworth County Gazette.

Tell us who you think the best dad or grad is and why. Post it to our Facebook page and get as many of your friends to like it as you can. The winning dad will receive golf for two at Koshkonong Mounds in Fort Atkinson, and the winning grad will receive an mp3 player.

Enter by uploading a photo with a 100 word description or video to our contest event page HERE.

The sooner you post, the more time you'll have for readers to like you entry. Check back regularly to see the latest entries and what people are saying about them. The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. June 17, 2010.
