LAKE GENEVA -- Looking to kill some time with that new iPhone you just bought?

Lake Geneva cartoonist Joe Martin wants to help.

Fans of Martin's long-running Mr. Boffo comic strip, will be able to get an extended bit of dry humor by downloading a new iPhone app that tags the strip in the newspaper.

Access the app HERE.

Bill Ward of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune writes that as of today, the "Mister Boffo" strip includes a graphic that readers can scan with their iPhones see an animated comic.

(View the downloadable comic HERE.)

The tags eventually could be used to link to ads, videos or other online content viewable by iPhone.

"We thought this was a silly, fun way to get people to look online," Martin told the newspaper. "I think the newspaper is going to become the new search engine."

I don't own an iPhone due to it's proprietary/closed nature, and their very restrictive policies regarding which apps to accept.
