Coat drive puts some warmth into winter

By Dan Plutchak ( Contact )   November 3, 2009 - 10:08 a.m.

Do you have any gently used coats that you won't be needing this year?

Brenda Quijano, Walworth County Girls Scout Troop Coordinator, e-mailed to let us know that the Girl Scouts in Elkhorn are once again collecting gently used winter coats, mittens, snow pants, boots and other outer wear to distribute to needy families.

Last year, more than 350 coats were collected.

Items can be dropped off at any Elkhorn Area Elementary Schools or the Middle School or High School; Frank's County Market, People's Bank, Clean Machine Laundry, or J. Roberts Menswear.

Coats will be cleaned at the Clean Machine Laundry by Girl Scout troops and distributed to needy families at the People's Bank Community Room from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.

For questions call Brenda at 743-1703.
