The definition of Chieftain is " the leader of a tribe, group, or clan". The Irish have referred to their clan leaders as Chieftains for hundreds of years! Unless their logo has feathers on it they shouldn't have to change it to appease an insignificant little group of people that apparently have nothing better to do with their time.

It's very common for teenagers to develop crushes on their "older" teachers, policemen, clergymen, psychiatrist, or any other authority figure and he would have been considered a figure of authority to her.

JoyM--She was 16!!! She obviously had a crush on him. Did you read the article? "school officials were tipped off by an anonymous call and letter, and that prompted them to keep track of Nelson's activities at the school." She probably thought they were IN LOVE and were going to live happily ever after. It's not too difficult to dupe a 16yr old.

I find her behavior more horrifying than his. You could write him off as sick SOB but what would possess her to protect somebody like that? Kids are told all their lives that if somebody touches them they should tell an adult they can trust such as a teacher, policeman, etc. That poor girl had to have been made to feel like she was causing trouble for him!
