— Enjoy a free family train day at the Geneva Lake Museum next Saturday, Feb. 16. Track the Past will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring train memorabilia and operating train layouts.

Kids of all ages will enjoy seeing a wide variety of train gauges and layouts, including a prewar standard gauge, a 0 gauge circus theme, a static P.O.W. train display, 027 gauge layout, S gauge layout and S gauge helix layout.

Or look through vintage books and train memorabilia.

Every child’s favorite — Thomas the Tank Engine — will be represented. The fictional steam locomotive inspired interest in trains for many children since the character first appeared in “The Railway” series of books. Later it was turned into a television series.

Children will have fun learning about trains with an accompanying adult during this one-day event.

Admission is by donation. The museum is located at 255 Mill St., Lake Geneva. For more information, call (262) 248-6060 or go to www.genevalakemuseum.org.
