Buzzer beater sends Warhawk women to the DIII championship game

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team defeated Amherst College 64-62 in overtime in a NCAA III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament semifinal played at Devos Fieldhouse at Hope College in Holland, Michigan Friday. The Warhawks, 26-6, will face DePauw University for the NCAA III title at 7 p.m. Saturday in Holland.

Walworth County sailors make U.S. sailing team

LAKE GENEVA -- Gordy Lamphere of Lake Geneva was named today to the U.S. Sailing Team Sperry Topsider along with 33 other of the US's best sailors. He is training in the Finn class and is one of two in that class who will be funded partially by the U.S. Lamphere has been training extensively for the past year and has climbed steadily in the US and World International Sailing Federation rankings.

Patty Murray, D-Wash., have recently announced—represents the internal agreement reached by a party caucus and the starting point of a high-stakes political negotiation. If a Republican or Democratic budget expert were to craft an actual proposed budget—one that would deserve a vote and could secure a majority in both chambers—it would look very different.
