Parker, Craig soccer drop Big Eight matches
JANESVILLE Craig High lost to visiting Middleton, 7-1, Thursday in Big Eight Conference boys soccer.
The Cardinals, ranked No. 2 in the state, gained a 5-1 first-half lead. Hosai Ceballos scored the Cougars' only goal on an assist from Chino Chavez 28 minutes into the first half.
"They are the No. 2 team in the state, and we had it 2-1 in the first 30 minutes," Craig coach Charles Friedrich said. "They are well disciplined and a quality team."
Craig hosts Union Grove on Saturday.

The Vikings (0-7 Big Eight, 2-12-7 overall) travel to the Lake Geneva Badger tournament and face Grant (Ill.) today at 4:30 p.m. Parker plays at 10:15 a.m. and noon on Saturday.
