— Authorities are trying to locate Jose Enriquez-Hernandez, a 45-year-old Hispanic man, in connection with the battery and kidnapping of his estranged wife early this morning in the village of Walworth, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers from the Walworth Police Department, responding to the report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on Williams Street in the village at 12:24 a.m. Monday, discovered a 39-year-old Harvard woman inside the car. The woman had head and facial injuries, and was taken to an unnamed medical facility for treatment, the release noted.

An investigation by the Walworth Police Department, the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Harvard Police Department revealed the victim had been with Enriquez-Hernandez at 506 E. Blackman St., in Harvard, where she was reportedly assaulted and battered.

Police believe the woman was driven to the Williams Street address by Enriquez-Hernanez, who then abandoned her in the car.

The Harvard Police Department is seeking an arrest warrant against him for two counts of aggravated domestic battery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.

Police say Enriquez-Hernandez may have a knife and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the suspect should call the Harvard Police Department at (815) 943-4431 or the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office at (262) 741-4400 or 911.
