— Eric Buell Racing, in East Troy, is one of 18 companies that are being reviewed by a Chinese investment firm that is considering creating an investment fund for state companies, according to a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Chinese firm PiYi Investment Management Co. Ltd. is in negotiations with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. to set up the fund. Both organizations would contribute money to the fund, and Jay Riskind, PiYi’s managing director for global projects said his company expected to invest at least $100 million.

Riskind said Wisconsin offered a good opportunity for PiYi because there isn’t sufficient capital to keep up with growing companies, the story noted.

Motorcycle designer Eric Buell showed Chinese investors several of his motorcycles last week.

Hero MotoCorp partners with EBR.

Besides Buell, other Wisconsin companies being considered by the firm include Delta Hawk Engines in Racine and Intuitive Biosciences in Madison.
