Warhawks rally past Wesleyan

— UW-Whitewater fought back from a 15-5 early first-half deficit to defeat host Illinois Wesleyan, 71-65, Tuesday nonconference men's basketball.

No. 3 ranked Whitewater is 4-0 overall and No. 7 Illinois Wesleyan falls to 4-1.

Darnell Harris scored 21 of his game-high 32 points in the second half to lift the Warhawks past the Titans. Whitewater also forced 25 turnovers to keep Wesleyan in check.

Whitewater ticked off a 14-2 run in the second half to erase a 28-25 halftime deficit to take a 39-30 lead. The Titans answered with an 11-2 run to tie it 41-41.

The Warhawks posted a 7-0 run to break loose for 56-48 lead at 6:43 and did not trail the rest of the way.

Luke Noble finished with 18 points and Quardell Young added 11 points for Whitewater. Harris maded six of eight three-point baskets to boost his effort.
