— The Walworth County Public Works Department is undertaking a planned program to selectively harvest pine trees at Price Conservancy Park located at N6499 Hodunk Road in the town of Lafayette. The project is tentatively scheduled to start the week of November 26th.

Per consultation with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource’s Southeast Region forester, this example of best management practices will accomplish three goals – removal of select trees from the existing stand, the creation of conditions necessary to promote regeneration, and to allow the remaining trees to reach optimum growth.

Revenue from the sale of the selected timber will be used to fund a prairie planting project in Price Conservancy.
