FONTANA — Cold temperatures and a little artificial snow set the scene Tuesday, Nov. 13, for the presentation of a grant check to the Walworth County Visitors Bureau from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.

The presentation was made at The Abbey in Fontana.

The $24,404 Joint Effort Marketing grant will be used to fund the third year of a winter marketing campaign dubbed Snow Much Fun. The municipalities that are partners in this project include Burlington, Delavan, East Troy, Elkhorn, Fontana, Lake Geneva, Sharon, Walworth, Whitewater and Williams Bay.

“By boosting marketing efforts during a traditionally slower travel time, Walworth County has an opportunity to promote its strengths and attract a new market of travelers,” said Stephanie Klett, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, who was on hand to make the grant presentation.

The marketing campaign includes print, digital and radio advertisements, trade show presence, social media, a winter hotline and more.
