— An Antioch, Ill., man and his teenage daughter were killed Sunday afternoon when their single-engine plane crashed just west of the Burlington Municipal Airport, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

Todd A. Parfitt, 50, and his daughter Nicole M. Parfitt, 14, were the two people aboard a 1972 Grumman Model AA-1B single engine fixed wing plane when it crashed into a field just east of County Highway DD in the town of Spring Prairie at about 1:26 p.m. Sunday, the release noted.

Upon arrival at the scene, sheriff's deputies found both occupants had been ejected from the plan and suffered fatal injuries. Deputies believe the pilot was attempting to land at the airport when the plan went down.

The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
