— Walworth County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an attempted bank robbery in the town of Sugar Creek Friday, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious male subject attempting to enter People's Bank, North Branch, located at W5102 County Trunk A, in Sugar Creek.

The suspect attempted to enter the front door of the bank, and when he found it locked, he ran toward the Wandawega Subdivision.

The suspect is described as white, around six feet tall with a huskier build, wearing a burgundy or red hooded sweatshirt with a white horizontal stripe on the lower third of the sweatshirt. He was wearing dark blue nylon running pants with a vertical white stripe down the side of the pants, and what appeared to be white running shoes. He was also wearing black gloves. As he approached the bank, he had the hood up over his face.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is asking for the assistance of the general public in identifying the suspect. Contact (262) 741-4400 with information.
