A former Williams Bay High School girls junior varsity basketball coach could be facing three more child sexual assault charges and 18 more counts of possession of child pornography based on evidence found on his computer, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
Shane S. McKinley, 27, formerly of Delavan and now living in Georgetown, Texas, is charged with one count of repeated sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl and five counts of possession of child pornography.
Police in December discovered he was having a relationship with a player on his team. The girl was a student at Williams Bay High School, according to court documents.
At a status hearing Wednesday, Walworth County Deputy District Attorney Joshua Grube said Delavan police found more child pornography after searching McKinley's computer.
Grube had a thick expanding file folder of documents from the investigation. He said evidence shows the sexual assault of a second female, now 19, who was 16 at the time.
Grube asked the court to modify McKinley's bond to prohibit him from having contact with the 19-year-old woman, any of the woman's family members or with a witness.
Grube also asked that McKinley be barred from accessing the Internet. He said law enforcement officials discovered McKinley had created a new Facebook account.
Defense attorney Jeffery Livingston did not contest the bond modifications.
The 15-year-old girl told police she had sexual intercourse "at least 20 times" at McKinley's residence in Delavan and used a cellphone to exchange naked pictures with McKinley, according to the criminal complaint.
McKinley was fired, and school officials immediately contacted police after school officials received reports that McKinley had sent "inappropriate" text messages to players.
McKinley is scheduled to be back in court at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21.
