Wisconsin students invited to decorate the Capitol Christmas tree
MADISON Students across Wisconsin can help decorate the Capitol Christmas tree by submitting their homemade ornaments.
The theme of the tree this year will be In Wisconsin—a symbolization of what it means to call Wisconsin home. Participants are encouraged to create ornaments that represent good or products made in Wisconsin, from agricultural crops such as cranberries to Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Students should make ornaments from non-breakable material, strong enough to hold up during shipping, and be handled while the tree is being decorated. Do not use fragile items or paper cutouts that may tear easily.
Ornaments should be 4 to 6 inches and a color that contrasts with the tree so they can be easily seen. Ornaments will not be returned.
Teachers or students interested in displaying ornaments on the tree must make their submissions by November 19th. Ornaments should be sent to:
Office of Governor Scott Walker
115 East Capitol
Madison, WI 53702
