— Walworth County will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for two new bridges on Friday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. at the County Highway X bridge over the railroad tracks, south of Bardwell Junction (approximately two miles west of Wisconsin Highway 14) in the town of Darien.

The ribbon cutting will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held underneath the bridge out of the elements.

The new bridges are located on County Highway X in the towns of Darien and Sharon. Construction work is almost complete and ready to be open to traffic.

The bridge replacements were a joint project between the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Walworth County. Total construction cost is $2.65 million, with the State funding 80 percent and the county 20 percent.

Romenesko Engineering designed the bridges and Lunda Construction of Black River Falls was the general contractor.
