— Make-A-Wish Wisconsin will host a volunteer and wish granter training Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 5-8 p.m. at the Rock County Job Center, 1900 Center Ave, Janesville. Make-A-Wish Wisconsin is looking for volunteers who will give their time to serve as wish granters in Green, Rock and Walworth Counties. RSVP to Make-A-Wish® Volunteer Manager, Nicole Wagner at nwagner@wisconsin.wish.org or at (262) 781-4445.

Volunteer wish granters act as a liaison between the wish child/family and the Make-A-Wish office, facilitating paperwork, meeting with the child and family to determine his or her one true wish, communicating with the family throughout the wish process, helping plan wishes/wish day parties, etc. Every wish is assigned two volunteer wish granters. Last year Make-A-Wish Wisconsin granted nearly 300 wishes in the state of Wisconsin.

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin works with more than 550 volunteers around the state to help fulfill its mission. “Wish granting is a privilege and an honor,” said Make-A-Wish Volunteer Manager, Nicole Wagner. “We regularly hear back from wish granters, how they received so much more than they gave when they participated in the wish granting experience.”
