— Even though we’ve only had snow for a little over a week, it’s never too early to beat the winter blues.

Winterfest will be held from Friday (Jan. 27) to Sunday (Jan. 29) at various locations throughout Beloit. The event is organized by Beloit Parks and Leisure Services, Visit Beloit and Central Christian Church.

“The idea behind Winterfest is to try to put together something that’s appealing to both adults and children to give them activities that will get them outside, or at least out of the house, and burn off some energy,” said Spencer Waite, recreations supervisor for Beloit Parks and Leisure Services. “That’s kind of the idea behind it.”

The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Friday with Winterfest Bingo at Grinnell Hall, located at 631 Bluff St. The event is for people of all ages, and various prizes will be awarded.
