Music by the Lake holding 'Music in the Air' auditions

— George Williams College will hold auditions for the Music by the Lake production of the musical "Music in the Air" in Wisconsin and Chicago over the next three months.

All roles are currently open with paid choral positions also available. The audition schedule is:

Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan Ave., seventh floor, Room 730, Chicago. Candidates should use the Wabash Avenue entrance.

Feb. 21, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., FIrst Congregational Church, 1511 Church St., Wauwatosa, Wis. (Milwaukee area). The snow date would be Feb. 28.

March auditions to be held in Brandenburge Hall on the GWC campus will be announced at a later date.

Christine Flasch, executive director of Music by the Lake, will conduct the auditions. Participants are asked t bring a current resume and headshot. An accompanist will be provided. "Music in the Air," with music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, will be performed with a full orchestra at 7:30 p.m. on Sat., July 21 and Sun., July 22 during the festival's 12th season. Performances will take place in the Ferro Pavilion, 350 Constance Blvd., Williams Bay. Music direction will be led by Flasch, and nationally recognized guest artist Dorothy Danner of New York will serve as stage director.
