Oren, Ferrell propel Edgerton, other scores

Whitney Oren scored a game-high 20 points, and Brooke Ferrell made four three-point baskets for 12 points as Edgerton defeated host Evansville, 52-36, in a Rock Valley North Conference girls basketball game Thursday night.


Edgerton improved to 5-1 in the Rock Valley North and 9-2 overall. Evansville fell to 2-4 and 3-7.

-- Big Foot 71, Turner 49—Jen Petkoff led a trio of double-digit scorers with 19 points as the Chiefs defeated the host Trojans in a Rock Valley game.


Petkoff scored 19 points, while Katie Pearce and Alyssa Lueck each added 11 as the Chiefs went to 2-4 in the league and 2-8 overall.


Big Foot used a 21-11 advantage in the second quarter to open a 35-21 halftime lead.


Kayla Wasburn led Turner (1-5, 1-9) with 10 points.

Wieseman had a pair of field goals in each quarter as the first-place Badgers improved to 5-1 in the conference and 7-4 overall.


Tristan Sproul added 11 points, while Emma Kopp and Annie Gaugert each scored eight.


Emily Golon scored 20 points for the Demons, who fell to 0-6 in the SLC and 2-11 overall.
