Milton boys roll past Edgerton, Evansville and Clinton win

Milton High School rolled to a 67-47 victory Monday over host Edgerton in nonconference boys basketball.


Sam McCann scored seven of his 19 points in the first quarter as the Red Hawks took a 13-11 first-quarter lead. Edgerton trailed 30-27 at the half, but Milton pulled away with a


18-9 third quarter advantage for a 48-36 lead.


Brooks Johnson scored 11 points for Edgerton. Tyler Westrick added 12 points for Milton.


Milton sank 21 of 30 free throws to Edgerton’s 18 for 25. The teams combined to commit 44 fouls.

Nonconference girls

-- Evansville 41, Juda 30—Evansville took the early lead en route to its nonconference girls basketball victory over Juda on Monday.


Evansville improved to 3-5 overall, while Juda fell to 9-2.


The Blue Devils led 13-10 after the first quarter and 24-16 at the half. Evansville, which never lost the lead, relied on five three-point goals.


Ellen Kizer scored 16 points for Juda and was the only player to score in double figures for both teams.
