Edgerton uses FTs in hang on for win, other scores

Edgerton did not score a field goal in the final quarter but hit 9 of 13 free throws and held on for a 47-40 victory at Palmyra-Eagle in a WIAA Division 3 boys basketball opener Tuesday night.


Edgerton (8-15) plays at third-ranked East Troy on Friday night.


Tyler Oren scored 13 points and hit 5 of his 6 free throws in the final quarter to lead Edgerton. Adam Converse scored 10 points for the Tide in the win.


Matt Preuss scored 12 points, while Tyler Troiola added 11 points as Palmyra-Eagle ended it’s season at 8-15.

Lawrence Crement scored 22 points to lead Williams Bay to a 57-51 victory over visiting Sheboygan Christian in a WIAA Division 5 boys regional basketball game Tuesday night.


Crement, a senior guard, scored eight points in the first quarter and nine points in the fourth as the Bulldogs improved to 10-13.


Sophomore Sergey Klyukuin added 10 points.


Sheboygan Christian finished 4-19.
