Illinois defeats Iowa to end six-game skid

— Meyers Leonard had 22 points and 14 rebounds off the bench as Illinois defeated Iowa, 65-54, on Sunday night to end a six-game losing streak.

The Illini (17-12, 6-10 Big Ten) hadnít won in February and had lost nine of 10 since defeating Ohio State in early January.

Brandon Paul added 17 points and D.J. Richardson scored 12 for Illinois.

Matt Gatens powered the Hawkeyes (15-14, 7-9) with 22 points and 5 of 6 shooting from three-point range. But Gatens was held in check by Paul in the second half, scoring just five points.

-- (23) Indiana 69, Minnesota 50óAt Minneapolis, Christian Watford was one of three players that scored 12 points, and the Hoosiers blew out the sputtering Gophers.

Victor Oladiopo and Jordan Hulls also scored 12 points, and Verdell Jones III added 11 off the bench for Indiana (22-7, 9-7), which held the Gophers (17-12, 5-11) to a season-low total and went 21 for 25 at the free-throw line.

Thatís exactly what Crean wanted, plus a relentless approach to rebounding.
