Elkhorn tops Oregon, Williams Bay falls

Elkhorn High dominated visiting Oregon 20-6 in the second quarter en route to an 80-64 victory Monday in nonconference girls basketball.


Erin Schahczinski scored eight of her 18 points in the second quarter to lead the Elks’ assault. The Panthers’ Maddy Gits made three out of four free throws, and Marranda Ricker sank the second of her five three-point basket as Oregon trailed 41-28 at the half.


Emily Schahczinski scored 27 points for the Elks. Jessica Hauer added 12 points, and Grace Ames chipped in 10 for Elkhorn. Gits finished with 20 points, and Ricker scored 17 for Oregon.

Megan Petty led Rio (12-8 overall, 7-4 league) with 21 points, and Rebecca Stofflet added 15 points.


Claire Canda led Williams Bay (5-14, 2-10) with 15 points.
