Christmas Guitar Night delivers sweet sounds

WOODSTOCK, Ill Four internationally acclaimed musicians will grace the stage at the Woodstock Opera House for Ed Hall’s 17th annual Woodstock Christmas Guitar Night Dec. 23rd, at 8:00 P.M. Unique and entertaining arrangements for the guitar and violin will be performed as well as popular holiday favorites.
Performing will be Muriel Anderson from Nashville, Tenn. One of the world’s foremost fingerstyle guitarists and harp-guitarists, Anderson is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. She has recorded with country legend Chet Atkins, performed in New York with Les Paul, at Chicago’s Orchestra Hall with the Chicago Symphony and in Tennessee with the Nashville Chamber Orchestra.
Harvey Reid from York, ME, is a singer songwriter multi-instrumentalist and a winner of the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and the International Autoharp Championship. He has released 25 highly acclaimed independent albums on Woodpecker Records that showcase his mastery of many instruments and styles of acoustic music, from hip-folk to country, slashing slide guitar blues to bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, ragtime and even classical.
Virtuoso violinist Jonathan DeSouza from Chicago, Ill. is a highly versatile musician and a music teacher and doctoral student at the University of Chicago.
National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion Ed Hall from Harvard, Ill also will perform unusual arrangements for fingerstyle guitar and serve as your host.
