Area legislators recognized by American Conservative Union

MADISON — State Reps. Tyler August (R-Lake Geneva), Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) and Evan Wynn (R-Whitewater) were named “Defenders of Liberty” by the American Conservative Union (ACU).

The ACU has rated members of Congress on conservative issues since 1971. The organization has recently expanded their ratings to members of the State Legislature based on key votes taken in the previous legislative session. To receive a Defender of Liberty award, a legislator must have a 100 percent rating on votes the ACU considers key conservative issues.
