— Police arrested three students after a drug-dog search of the Craig High School student parking lot Tuesday morning, the school district reported.

The dogs indicated they had sensed something at 15 of the 200 cars in the parking lot, the district reported.

The dogs are trained to react to marijuana, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. Marijuana was found Tuesday in three cars.

Three dogs—one each from the Rock County Sheriff's Office, Janesville Police Department and town of Beloit Police Department—and their handlers conducted the search.

The school was in a soft lockdown for about 75 minutes while the police and dogs worked. A soft lockdown allows classes to continue, but students and staff are not allowed to move about the building.

Police confirmed three arrests but had no further details Tuesday night.
