— Janesville Parker dropped a pair of nonconference baseball games Saturday to Racine Park, falling 6-5 and 7-3 at Riverside Park.

Park overcame a two-run deficit with three runs in the seventh inning to win the opener. The inning was highlighted by Jon Carlson’s two-run, two-out single.

Parker (2-6) scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead, 5-3. Brady Brandt and Justin Devoe each hit RBI singles, and Clayton Coleman had a two-run single in the inning.

All six of Park’s runs were unearned as Parker committed four errors.

“The four errors didn’t help matters,” Parker coach Brian Martin said. “Our pitchers threw well today. Defensively, we didn’t do the job, especially in that first game.”

In the second game, Park scored three in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead on its way to the victory.

“In the second game we just came out flat,” Martin said. “We just couldn’t get anything going.”

The Vikings’ Jake Welch and Brandt each had two hits in the second game.

Parker plays Tuesday against Janesville Craig in a Big Eight game at Riverside Park.
