Fort Atkinson outlasts Milton, other scores

Tanner Boos stole the show in Tuesday’s Badger South Conference boys basketball opener between Fort Atkinson and Milton.


The Fort Atkinson junior guard had 30 points, including 10 in overtime, to lead the Blackhawks to a 51-50 win.


Fort Atkinson tied the game at 41-41 on Casey O’Brien’s three-point basket with 26 seconds left in regulation.


Boos was the difference in the extra session as he scored all 10 of Fort Atkinson’s (3-0, 1-0) points, including four free throws in the last minute.


Senior center Erick Boden led Milton (0-3, 0-1) with 20 points.

Nonconference

Lakeside Lutheran’s boys basketball team opened up the 2011-12 season in impressive fashion Tuesday night.


The Warriors, who qualified for the WIAA state tournament last season, got 22 points from Caleb Gardner and 20 from Micah Torgerson in an 83-55 nonconference win over Delavan-Darien.


Lakeside raced out to a 25-6 lead after the first quarter and led by 30 at half.


Danny Supernaw and Bryce Hembrook had 13 points each for Delavan-Darien (0-2).

Elkhorn’s Matt Smith scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the second half. The Bulldogs’ Lawrence Crement finished with 12 points.
