— An 18-hole qualifying round gets under way this morning on Grand Geneva's Brute course to set the field for the 27th annual WSGA State Match Play Championship.

The round today will determine the 64-player field for the matches in the tournament that runs through Thursday.

A year ago, Jordan Elsen of Kenosha beat Ben Sieg of Osseo, Wis., 1-up, in the final at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac.

Among the qualifiers in today's field are former Badger High School golfer Alex Gaugert, Curt Langille of Lake Geneva and Richard Pfeil of Lake Geneva.

Also in the field are Dallas Cowboys's quarterback Tony Romo, a Burlingon native, and his dad, Ramiro. Tony Romo tees off at 2:27 p.m.
