— A storm packing high winds tore through the Lake Como area of Geneva Township early Saturday, upending trees and tossing piers along the lakefront.

The storm blew through about 2 a.m. Saturday according to witnesses, knocking out power for 10 or more hours in some areas.

By Sunday, township road crews had cleared most of the streets, but downed trees were still on numerous houses.

Storm damaged appeared to be centered around Lake Como, with few reports of trees down or other damage in neighboring parts of Walworth County.
