— The Milton Junction Pub Raptors dropped a pair of one-run games in Rock River League baseball over the weekend.

Six-time defending Southern Division champion Clyman rallied from an 8-1 deficit to edge the Raptors, 9-8, in 10 innings Sunday.

On Saturday, the Madison Rockers came back from a 6-4 ninth-inning deficit to win, 7-6, at Utica.

Josh Shere homered in the second inning on Sunday, and the Raptors built a seven-run advantage through the top of the fifth inning.

Clyman pulled within one run after seven innings, then added single runs in the ninth and 10th to win it.

Milton manager Doug Welch said Clyman tied the game on a passed ball in the ninth, and won it with an infield hit in the 10th.

“After the fourth inning we left the bases loaded twice,” Welch said.

On Saturday, Joe Shere pitched the entire game for Milton and went 4-for-5 with two doubles. Only one of Madison’s seven runs was earned as the Raptors committed nine errors.

Milton (8-5), which is tied for fifth, plays at Ashippton on Sunday.

Joe Shere and Tom Scalissi will represent the Raptors in Saturday’s Rock River All-Star Game in Farmington.
