Beloit Snappers win shutout

— The Beloit Snappers rolled to a 5-0 victory Sunday over the visiting Clinton LumberKings in Midwest League baseball.

Snappers starter Manuel Soliman (4-5) blanked the LumberKings on seven hits through seven innings for the victory. Reliever Nelvin Fuentes held Clinton hitless through the final two innings to preserve the shutout.


Beloit took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning on a walk, three consecutive singles and Lance Ray’s two-run home run with two outs.
