Langley propels Clinton victory, other scores

Clinton High School won a shootout over visiting South Beloit, 79-60, in nonconference boys basketball Monday night.


The Rock Valley South-leading Cougars (6-1) led 28-16 after the first quarter. Justin Langley scored nine of his game-high 26 points in the quarter, while Ross Oldenberg added nine of his 20, and Cody Risseeuw scored eight of his 16.


The Cougars made 23 of 31 free throws to protect their lead.


Arsenio White led South Beloit with 23 points, and teammate Terrel Williams added 19 points.

Carson Scheidegger added 13 for Brodhead.


Boomer Detra scored 13 points for Albany, whom Brodhead held to single digits in each quarter.
