— The Beloit City Council gives the nod to a developer who says he wants to rehab several apartment buildings.

The action came at Monday's council meeting as Keystone Development sought backing from the city as they submit their application for tax credits.

Keystone tells the city they'll rehabilitate all of the buildings if they can acquire them. The property, known as the Countryside Village Apartments, is currently in receivership.

Beloit's Director of Housing Services, Tom Clippert, says the city had problems with the previous owner who refused to follow city code requirements when making repairs.

Clippert says the buildings are in such poor shape only four apartments are fit for human habitation.
