MUKWONAGO (AP) -- A Mukwonago man is due in court this week on a tentative charge of sixth-offense drunken driving after rolling his vehicle with his 5-year-old son inside.
Jeffrey G. Gleiss of 227 Arrowhead Drive, is being held on $10,000 cash bail in Waukesha Count Jail.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Waukesha County Court according to online records.
Authorities say the man failed to negotiate a curve Christmas morning, hit two traffic signs and rolled his car.
Police say the driver's eyes were bloodshot and he smelled of alcohol. Officers arrested him after he refused to submit to field sobriety tests.
The man previously served more than a year in prison after being convicted of operating while intoxicated along with hit-and-run causing injury.
A sixth OWI carries penalties of six months to six years in jail. But those penalties will be doubled because a child under 16 was in the car.
