Update: Funeral scheduled for Wednesday
TROY TOWNSHIP -- A 6-year-old boy is dead and an East Troy man is in custody following a two-car crash Thursday in Troy Township.
Scott D. Dragotta, 44, was arrested on the scene and is expected to be charged with OWI-homicide and OWI-causing great bodily injury. He is scheduled to appear in Walworth County Circuit Court today at 1 p.m.
Officers responded to a two car crash at 8:11 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Wisconsin Highway 20 and County Highway N in Troy Township.
Upon arrival deputies found a 2008 Saturn Vue carrying four people in the front yard of a residence.
Treyton E Kilar, 6, of Whitewater, was found in the backseat of the car and was unresponsive, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff's Offices.
Deputies initiated CPR and Kilar was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:42pm.
The driver of this vehicle, Michael S Kilar, 44, Whitewater, sustained critical injuries and was also taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Two other passengers did not appear to be injured, according to authorities.
They are identified as Kindyl E Kilar, 5, of Whitewater and and Rosemary L Jaskolski, 15 of Whitewater.
Authorities say Dragotta was driving a full size 2000 Chevy Suburban which they found up against a tree.
The Walworth County Crash Investigation Unit determined that Dragotta was northbound on Highway N.
Kilar was westbound on Highway 20.
Dragotta allegedly failed to stop for the stop sign and struck Kilar's vehicle, and both vehicles ended up in the yard.
Dragotta also is a suspect in a hit and run causing injury crash which occurred minutes earlier in the Town of Lafayette.
Both cases are open and ongoing and no further information about either case will be released at this time.
