GENOA CITY Genoa City residents are using Facebook to warn each other about reports of a man trying to lure children into his car.
Residents have forwarded a news release that says Genoa City police are seeking a man related to incidents in Genoa City and Hebron, Ill.
The Facebook post says the first incident occurred about 4:25 p.m. Aug. 16 in Hebron, where a boy riding a bike said a man in a red vehicle approached him, asked for directions, then tried to get the boy into his car.
At about 6:30 p.m. the same day, residents of the Hunter's Ridge subdivision in Genoa City reported a similar vehicle followed an 8-year-old girl.
The man reportedly stopped the vehicle and attempted to get the girl to come inside.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Genoa City Police Department at (262) 279-6252, the Walworth County Sheriff's Office (262) 741-4400 or Crime Stoppers at (262) 723-2677.

Thank You Dan As a grandparent of children in Sugar Creek I saw no mention of the tribulations that were going on there-my poor grandchildren were kept prisoner in their house because of the same problem. People please make your thoughts known and keep the pedophiles accountable for their actions. No one ever knew about the man in the white van attempting to pick up children unless you lived there. My son was almost arrested when chasing down a man that decided to take pictures for comparisons in the area because his daughter was playing in front. I would have done the same-no one will make my grandchildren in danger.
