Five arrested in car break-ins
Ladophlius T.C. Richardson is among the suspects in multiple car break-ins at a strip club in Darien Township, Walworth County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott McClory said.
In all, five men were arrested on numerous charges after they helped police in their capture by stopping in front of the Darien police station.
Four of the men are from Beloit and the fifth from Rockford, Ill., McClory said.
Two are being held on warrants from previous crimes, and one is being held on a probation violation.
According to a written statement from McClory:
Shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday, Walworth County deputies answered a call that several men were breaking into cars in the parking lot of the Show Palace Gentleman’s Club on Highway 14.
The first deputy to arrive learned that the men had been confronted by someone from the club and fled toward Darien in a dark colored Ford Explorer.
A Darien police officer found the car in the village and summoned deputies. The car stopped in front of the Darien Police Department and the men fled from the vehicle. One man was immediately arrested.
The sheriff’s K-9 teams were called to the scene along with officers from Sharon, Delavan and Delavan Township.
After searching for about two hours with the help of police dogs and infrared technology, three other suspects were arrested.
A police dog bit one of the men who had fled. The fifth suspect later was found walking toward Beloit along Interstate 43.
