— The Beloit College Buccaneers lost, 60-57, to visiting Lake Forest in a Midwest Conference men’s basketball season opener Sunday at Flood Arena.

The Foresters’ Nate Bateman hit a put-back with 37 seconds to play for the victory.


David Bremner scored 11 points to lead Beloit. Teammate Tyler Butke chipped in 10 points.


Travis Clark scored 16 points to pace Lake Forest.
