Edgerton girl admits involvement in boy's death
A 14-year-old Edgerton girl admits her involvement in a 13-year-old boy's death.
Alexander Aiken's mother gave a somtimes sobbing, often angry, and thoroughly mournful statement during the juvenile court disposition Thursday of Ashlee Brown. Her young son's friend was accused of supplying the prescription drugs which led to his death. She admonished the 8th grade girl, saying there's no sentence that could take away from her young life and family, what she'd taken away from others. Following a plea agreement, Rock County Judge Alan Bates ordered Brown be placed in the state's Serious Juvenile Offender program. She'll be in state custody for five years, with up to three years in a maximum security facility for juveniles.
Both the prosecution and defense say Brown will be able to receive better help to deal with her problems in the juvenile system, compared with the adult system.
