— Deputies from the Racine County Sheriff's office earlier today rescued an ice fisherman who had fallen into Brown's Lake in Burlington.

Deputies were called to the lake just after 11 a.m. to check on the welfare of the man who was off shore about 200, according to the Racine Journal Times.

Shortly after authorities arrived, he fell in.

He was in the water for about 30 minutes before crews pulled him out of the water and brought him to shore on a rubber raft.

He was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa.

Authorities on the scene said the ice on Browns Lake is not safe at this point. It is black, thin and does not reach the shoreline.
