TWIN LAKES — The owners of the site that is home to the annual County Thunder music festival are requesting annexation into the village of Twin Lakes.

Shadow Hill Ranch is located in the town of Randall, so all the zoning and permitting approvals must go through the township and Kenosha County.

“It is the intent of folks at Country Thunder to be in the corporate limits of Twin Lakes this summer,” Village Administrator David Cox told the Kenosha News.

The Twin Lakes Plan Commission will review the petition in late April, and the Village Board could act on it in May. Village officials are also being asked to create a commercial/recreational zoning district to accommodate land use on the 38-acre property off of Highway O.

The land in Randall and Genoa City adjacent to the site used for camping and parking is not included in the annexation request.
