— The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday.

* Areas of dense fog with visibilities of a quarter mile or less will persist through mid to late afternoon.

* There may be a few hours this afternoon when the fog breaks up. Visibilities could improve to 1 to 3 miles or greater for a time at some locations across southern Wisconsin.

* Dense fog is expected to re-develop this evening across all of south central and southeast Wisconsin. It will persist through Thursday morning.

* Limited visibility will make for difficult travel.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
