— A 14-year-old Edgerton girl will be waived to adult court to face charges in the Feb. 9 oxycodone overdose death of Alexander Aiken, 13, of Milton Township.

Judge R. Alan Bates in a hearing this morning cleared the way for the Rock County District Attorneys' Office to file a criminal complaint Thursday against the girl in adult court. It was not clear this morning what adult charge will be filed. The girl had been referred to juvenile authorities on a charge of reckless homicide.

The girl was ordered held in juvenile detention after this morning's hearing. Even after she is waived to adult court, she would be kept in the juvenile detention center, not the adult jail, court officials said this morning.

The 13-year-old Edgerton boy staying overnight with Aiken on the night of the overdose is accused of possession of dangerous drugs. He was ordered released on home detention to his mother this morning. Police say he took oxycodone with Aiken and went to the hospital the same day.
