Lake Geneva Badger's William Swanson pressures Parker's Cody Simonson. Dan Lassiter/staff.
LAKE GENEVA -- The Badger High School boys pulled away to an 80-66 win over Janesville Parker in their WIAA Division 1 Regional semifinal game Tuesday night.
Their reward? A date with No. 1 seed Beloit Memorial (15-7) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Barkin Arena.
Parker battled the Badgers (7-16) for three quarters, but the Vikings couldn't keep up in the final period. Badger went into the fourth quarter with a 54-51 lead, then stretched it to 64-53 with a 10-2 opening run led by two three-point shots from Preston Daily and one from Laramie Wieseman.
Badger coach Tom Dummer said the key to his team's offensive surge in the fourth quarter was the defensive pressure on Parker.
"That pressure resulted in turnovers, and it provided us with run-outs," he said. "That was the key to our offense."
